A ceremony at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre

India's modern space history started 60 years ago with the launch of a Nike-Apache sounding rocket from the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station on 21 November 1963.

ISRO, Indian Space Research Organisation, held a grand ceremony at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) to commemorate this anniversary. Amongst the guests were also 60 students from various schools in the region.
