United Launch Alliance (ULA) launched its penultimate national security mission NROL-107, or Silentbarker, using Atlas V rocket on Sunday 10 September.
The launch took place from the Space Launch Complex-41 pad in Cape Canaveral Space Force Base in Florida.
The Silentbarker mission has been described as being a “watchdog” on the geosynchronous orbit around Earth, at the altitude of 36 000 km. The satellite is ordered and operated by the US National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and the United States Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC).
