The International Space Station is currently orbiting Earth with 7 astronauts and cosmonauts living and working inside.

One of its predecessors was Skylab, the first US space station. It was launched 50 years ago.

Skylab turned out to be an extremely interesting and educating mission. First, everything went to plan, but then the station's micrometeoroid shield, sunshade, and one of its solar arrays, were torn off.

The flight of the first Skylab astronauts turned out to be a repair mission.
